( – Republicans in the Senate who are not sure about whether or not former President Donald Trump is a viable option for the general election are turning their attention to former U.N. ambassador Nikki Haley as the best option to avoid a possible Trump nomination.

While the GOP Senators still believe that Trump could potentially win the White House, there are concerns especially considering the low approval ratings of former President Donald Trump. However, they believe Haley to be a more electable option as unlike Trump she does not alienate suburban and independent women voters.

However, they are worried that a possible Trump nomination could have disastrous effects on the Republican party. These concerns are despite the fact that Trump has managed to have a strong lead in the Republican primary polls. The legal issues that the former President is currently facing are also a major point of concern for lawmakers who believe that Haley could potentially be a better choice in the 2024 election.

One of the reasons why Haley is viewed as a better candidate is because she is more unlikely to make any wild statements or statements regarding policies that could potentially end up becoming political landmines in upcoming years.

Haley’s campaign has also been generating a lot of enthusiasm at a time when Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has essentially been written off.

Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT) has noted that Haley has significantly better prospects as her polling numbers have been getting better while DeSantis’ numbers have been going down.
