(PatriotNewsDaily.com) – Following the recent polls which have found that former President Donald Trump is leading against President Joe Biden in many battleground states, Senate Democrats in tough races have been breaking with the President on several issues.
While Biden’s approval ratings remain low, many Senators are worried about how Biden’s position in the race might affect their tough reelection races. For this reason, there has been a general move away from the Biden administration policies, with many Senators taking different positions when it comes to the Israel-Hamas war, border security, tariffs on Chinese imports, and exports of liquified natural gas.
One Democratic senator who agreed to speak anonymously argued that if a focus group was done, everyone in the group would argue that Biden was “200 years old.” They added that the worst part is that even people who are unaffiliated with either of the parties have been looking at those choices and questioning whether these were really the only options.
Polls have currently shown that around 40 percent of registered voters in battleground states do not find the presidential candidates to be a satisfactory option.
The senator argued that this was a known problem within his party, but that currently it was too late to take any action on this as this was their presidential ticket in 2024 and they needed to try and win with it.
A different Senator also stated that Biden’s age was showing much more than Trump’s and that many people are wondering why the President is running for a second term.
