If you want a degree in all the ways the Democrats and Robert Mueller can conspire to remove President Donald Trump from office, you don’t need to attend a single class. Just sit home and read The New York Times. Watch MSNBC. Surf Reddit’s r/politics. You’ll be an expert in how to usurp democracy for the good of liberal America in no time.
But we suppose if you really need to hear about it in a college classroom, San Diego State University has what you’re looking for. The college is offering a course in “Impeachment, Removal, and Special Counsel,” which is a title change from “Trump: Impeachment, Removal or Conviction,” which garnered a little too much national controversy when they rolled it out in February. The new course is pretty much identical to the old one, though, save the title change.
From The College Fix:
The course teaches students how a president can be impeached and even indicted based on “foreign emoluments, climate change, racism, religious bias … nepotism” and “false statements” — all categories that fit common allegations against President Donald Trump.
The syllabus says the course covers “divine right echo,” powers and limits of the president, judicial review, fundamentals of impeachment, presidential impeachment, and indictment of a sitting president.
It puts impeachment into the context of the Supreme Court’s ruling in Brown v. Board of Education, “which began a push for politicization of the courts” that has “become more aggravated” in recent years.
The course includes Trump’s firing of FBI Director James Comey on the grounds that Comey announced “an investigation into Hillary Clinton shortly before the election” and “was not doing a good job.”
We don’t doubt there are more ridiculous and irrelevant courses you could take at SDSU (or most other colleges in this country), but it is still pretty amazing that a state-funded university would offer what amounts to a whirlwind tour of far-left theories. You have to wonder what kind of outcry there would have been if a college in 2006 started offering a course entitled: “Obama: U.S. Citizen or Illegitimate President?” with readings from Sheriff Joe Arpaio.
For those who want the info but don’t have access to the class, we’ll make it real simple: Unless Democrats can manage to wrangle 60+ seats in the Senate next Tuesday, impeachment ain’t happening. And since it would be mathematically impossible for them to do that, you’d better get used to the fact that Donald J. Trump is going to be in the White House until at least January 20, 2021.
