(PatriotNewsDaily.com) – Rep. Elise Stefanik, the House Republican Conference chair, blasted Harvard, her alma mater after one of the institution’s students claimed that Israel was completely “responsible” for the violence that Hamas soldiers had unleashed on the country with the backing of Iran.
Over two dozen Harvard students slammed Israel and instead expressed support for Palestinians in Gaza following the coordinated terrorist attacks launched by Hamas on Saturday.
Stefanik called for the Ivy League university’s leaders to condemn the “anti-Semitic” remarks. In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Sunday night, Stefanik stated that it was “abhorrent and heinous” for the Ivy League students to be placing the blame for the attacks on Israel. She added that the attacks have resulted in more than 700 Israelis losing their lives and that there were no excuses for supporting terrorism which had resulted in innocent children and other civilians losing their lives.
On the day of the Hamas attacks, the Harvard student organization released a statement that was signed by the Society of Arab Students, the Harvard Jews for Liberation, the Harvard Divinity School Muslim Association, and the Harvard Islamic Society. In the letter, the groups had written that they held the Israeli regime completely responsible for the violent events that had unfolded.
They continued by pointing out that for the last two decades, the Palestinians living in Gaza were essentially in an open-air prison. They added that while the Israeli officials had already started the massacre in Gaza, the Palestinian people in the area did not have anywhere to escape or hide, meaning that they would be forced to face the full force of the Israeli violence.
