(PatriotNewsDaily.com) – Senate Judiciary Committee Republicans, led by ranking member Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), sent a letter to Dick Durbin (D-IL), the committee chairman, calling for him to have U.S. Attorney of Delaware David Weiss and Attorney General Merrick Garland testify regarding the recent revelations connected to the Hunter Biden probe.
In the letter, they point out that following the recent revelations the Committee is calling for the two men to provide clarifications to their previous statements. They are also required to provide answers regarding the FD-1023 form they were given and the claims included within it.
The committee’s Republicans also noted that following Weiss’ previous response to Graham’s letter, they had even more questions about Weiss’s authority in the probe.
The letter also notes that the two men will be called to clarify some of the points that IRS whistleblowers Joseph Ziegler and Gary Shapley made regarding the efforts to slow down and influence the probe of Hunter Biden. In their testimonies, the two men claimed that the Department of Justice, FBI, and IRS had all tried to influence the investigation into Hunter Biden.
Previously Weiss had written in response to Graham’s questions that he had never been blocked from filing charges in any jurisdiction, which is one of the points the whistleblowers had made.
Graham’s letter is also calling for more information to be provided regarding an FD-1023 document that includes allegations about a bribery scheme that President Joe Biden and Hunter Biden, his son, were involved in during Biden’s time serving as vice President.
