(PatriotNewsDaily.com) – Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) on Sunday said that Biden’s team had failed to properly communicate and coordinate President Biden’s visit to the U.S.-Mexico border in El Paso, Texas with local officials. Abbott said that throughout the planning he had not received a single call from Biden or his staff to let them know about the visit that they are planning or to invite them to attend. He added that changed on Saturday night after he received an email from one of Biden’s staff members asking if Abbott would like to “be there to meet him on the tarmac.”

Abbott during his interview on Fox News’s “Sunday Morning Futures” maintained that it had been the administration that had failed to properly communicate. However, Biden’s Homeland Security secretary Alejandro Mayorkas had said on Sunday that it was Abbott’s office that had not been responsive to the administration regarding the border crisis and immigration issues that the state is facing on the southern border.

During an interview on ABC’s “This Week” Mayorkas said that Abbott had not been “collaborating with the federal government” despite the fact that to resolve the border issue collaboration would be important. Mayorkas further added that those who entered the U.S. to seek asylum or humanitarian relief should not have their rights and needs exploited for other political purposes. He noted that it was also not possible for them to have a “unilateral governor” who took actions on his own without coordinating the efforts with the federal government so that the issues can be better addressed.
