Former White House press secretary turned MSNBC host Jen Psaki criticized Fox News host Tucker Carlson on Monday night for not respecting his viewers. During an appearance on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” Psaki revealed that for 20 seconds she considered that maybe Tucker Carlson was “one of us” but she soon realized that he was intentionally choosing to provide disinformation to his audience.

She then proceeded to accuse him of considering his audience “stupid” just so he can keep “his job, save viewers and make money.”

The former Biden spokeswoman was asked about the recent information that had come from the $1.6 billion defamation lawsuit that Fox News is facing from Dominion Voting System. As part of the filing, it was revealed that many top Fox executives and hosts, including Carlson, Sean Hannity, and Laura Ingraham had privately dismissed former President Trump’s claims even though they continued to promote those claims on air out of fear that going against them might alienate their audience.

On Monday Colbert had said that while “not surprising” it was “unsettling to hear about.”

In response, Psaki stated that it was “more than unsettling.” She added that she had been watching Colbert and it is clear he was “more than unsettled.” She added that she had not been shocked but rather that she had been “horrified by the disinformation.”

This month Carlson has continued to spread his false narrative of what took place during the Capitol attack on January 6th, 2021. Carlson has been reframing the information and footage to promote the attack as “mostly peaceful chaos.” As part of his show, Carlson also released a number of new surveillance videos that he had been given exclusive access to from the Speaker of the House.
