( – Amazon’s decision to remove from Prime Video, its streaming platform the pro-Donald Trump documentary released in 2020 called “The Plot Against the President” has resulted in a lot of questions on social media.

The one-and-a-half-hour-long documentary explored the story of how “Congressman Devin Nunes uncovered the operation to bring down the President of the United States,” according to the summary on the platform. The documentary is based on a book written by Lee Smith, an investigative journalist under the same name. Smith while writing the book had direct access to Nunes.

Smith has noted that there was a popular idea that Russia had interfered with the 2016 presidential elections, however, the reality was that it had not been Moscow but rather “the deep state” who had targeted Trump and had really brought damage to the country. At the time, the House Intelligence Committee chair Devin Nunes, had been the one to discover the plot to uncover the U.S. president.

Breitbart reported on Wednesday that the film was no longer available on Prime Video and that no explanation had been provided for its removal. This was also confirmed by Newsweek noting that in their search they found that the video did not appear available in this location.

According to one source familiar with the situation, while Prime Video did not have any issue with the film itself, the film was removed after it was found that there was a breach of contract issue with the agency that provided access to the film. They further noted that there was ongoing litigation relating to this issue.
