(PatriotNewsDaily.com) – Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) stated in a recent interview that she has not spoken with former Speaker and Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) since he was removed from office last month.
Journalist Brian Tyler Cohen had asked Pelosi during an interview that was published on Sunday whether she had any communication with McCarthy since his ousting. In response, Pelosi stated that she had not had the chance to talk to him yet, but that she had heard from others that McCarthy had blamed her for his removal.
Pelosi proceeded to joke that she was “so powerful” and joked that he just needed to “learn how to count” and then he would have had all the required votes.
Pelosi, along with all the Democrats in the House, had voted for McCarthy’s removal. Along with them, eight Republicans had also voted for McCarthy to be ousted.
Last month, Pelosi denied the allegation that she had broken a promise given to McCarthy and argued that there were many concerns raised by the Democrats which ultimately resulted in the removal of McCarthy, including the former Speaker’s decision to launch an impeachment inquiry into President Biden.
As she argued, if someone does not have any respect for the institution then they should not “expect us to bail you out.”
Following McCarthy’s ousting, his temporary replacement Rep. Patrick McHenry (R-NC) immediately called for Pelosi to be removed from her office in the Capitol.
During the interview, Pelosi argued that her relationship with McCarthy was not at all important and that currently the most important thing right now was winning the upcoming election.
