(PatriotNewsDaily.com) – President Biden’s position in the Israel-Hamas conflict has resulted in many Muslim voters being disillusioned. This stance has also left them questioning their position in the 2024 presidential election.
The Hill in a recent report noted that after interviewing voters it was clear that many were angered and disappointed by the position that Biden has adopted as he has maintained that he is in full support of Israel which has been bombing Gaza. Biden has maintained that Israel has the right to defend itself after the October 7th attack by Hamas, which resulted in the death of 1,400 people, most of whom were civilians.
This position has left Muslim voters in the middle, as on the other side of the presidential race it is likely that the nominee will be former president Donald Trump who had previously issued a travel ban on those from Muslim nations. Trump is currently the frontrunner in the Republican primary and has argued that if he is elected again, he is going to reinstate the travel ban and even potentially expand it.
In recent days, President Biden has slightly altered his position as he has been pushing for Israel to take all necessary steps in order to limit the number of civilian Palestinian casualties in Gaza. He has also tried to make a distinction between Hamas, which the U.S. considers a terrorist group, and innocent Palestinian civilians residing in Gaza.
Still, one Muslim voter in New York City argued that Biden, with his support for Israel, had “sealed his fate” and there was nothing he could do now to win their vote.
