No one reading this will be surprised to learn that the mainstream media is biased against Trump and the Republican Party; hell, is there anyone still out there denying that simple fact? We suppose there are, although after watching the media carry water for Elizabeth Warren and her Indian DNA, it’s hard to imagine anyone being that blind. In any event, the media’s bias can be found in the pundits they choose to interview, the stories they choose to highlight, and, perhaps most of all, the controversies they choose to ignore.
Here are three stories that make Democrats look bad…all of them notably absent from the mainstream media.
The Keith Ellison Domestic Abuse Scandal
Rep. Keith Ellison is no small-time player in politics. The Minnesota Muslim is not just a member of the House of Representatives and he’s not just running for attorney general in his home state. This dude is second-in-command at the Democratic National Committee. Yes, the same DNC that was fundraising off the despicable confirmation hearings of Brett Kavanaugh. But while Democrats and the media were casting around for any Georgetown/Yale-area co-ed who could accuse Kavanaugh of standing beside a punch bowl in college, they have been nearly silent about the serious allegations against Ellison. How strange.
Ellison, a former card-carrying member of the Nation of Islam, has been accused by ex-girlfriend Karen Monahan of cursing her, hitting her, and dragging her off a bed in an incident stemming from when the two were dating. Ellison has acknowledged the accusations but denies that any such incident occurred. For her part, Monahan says there is video that corroborates her story, but she has not released it.
We’re not saying Monahan is telling the truth or that she isn’t; we’re just saying that if Ellison were a Republican, the Washington Post would be on this story like white on rice.
Beto O’Rourke Lies About DUI Arrest
This hasn’t been entirely ignored by the mainstream media; in fact, we have to give the aforementioned Post credit for bringing it to our attention. The Post’s resident fact checker, Glenn Kessler, gave the Texas Democrat “four Pinnochios” for telling a debate audience that he had not tried to leave the scene of the crime after a drunken car accident from his early 20s. Kessler pulled police reports from the time that confirmed that O’Rourke did indeed try to flee the scene, only to be stopped by an officer. It’s right there in black and white. And yet, save for Kessler’s column, no one in the Beto-adoring press seems interested in nailing O’Rourke for his lie.
Capitol Hill Staffer Exposes Republicans’ Private Information
Imagine what the media frenzy would look like if a staffer for, say, Rep. Devin Nunes were caught doxxing Dianne Feinstein, Kamala Harris, and Cory Booker. Spreading their personal information all over Wikipedia in the hopes that deplorable MAGA-hat wearing thugs would show up at their house and harass them for the way they treated Brett Kavanaugh. It would be a huge story. But since it was a Democrat staffer for Rep. Sheila Jackson-Lee, and the victims were Lindsey Graham, Orrin Hatch, and Mitch McConnell, it’s fine. Nothing to see here. Even after the perp was arrested by Capitol Police and charged with a number of serious felonies, the media was content to pretend that none of this ever happened.
And we’re supposed to read something into the possibility that there will be a “blue wave” in November? Hell, if Republicans got this kind of media coverage, Democrats would be obsolete as a national party within a year.
