Media Shocked: Hardly Any Trump Voters Regret Their Choice

With a mixture of opinion polls weighted towards Democrats, stories of town halls filled with angry “constituents,” and Twitter hashtag trends, the media has done an extremely effective job of making it look like Donald Trump’s supporters have dwindled to nothing only a few weeks into his horrible, disastrous presidency.

You know, the same trick they tried to pull more than a dozen times throughout the general election. Oh, Trump has really stepped in it this time! Oh, look at all of these angry people we found to interview! He’s toast! And miraculously, every time, up to and including election night, those supporters always came through.

Perhaps remembering those bygone 2016 days, researchers at Penn State’s McCourtney Institute of Democracy decided to poll voters to see if there were as many disgruntled Trump supporters as we’ve been led to believe.

“Suppose you could go back in time and vote again in the November election,” the poll asked 1,000 Americans. “What would you do?”

From the Washington Post:

Of the 339 poll participants who originally voted for Trump, only 12 (31/2 percent) said they would do something different. Only three individuals (fewer than 1 percent) said that, could they go back in time, they would cast their vote for Clinton. Seven said they would vote for one of the minor-party candidates.

So that’s the big story of Trump’s enormous failure of a presidency. Less than four percent of his supporters would go back and change their vote, and less than one percent would vote for Hillary – which was, of course, the only other legitimate possibility.

Okay, so Trump voters aren’t in the throes of deep regret, but surely they want him to straighten up, fly right, and act more presidential?

Well, the poll asked them that as well. “If you could send a message to President Trump, what would it be?”

The Post reports: “Of the 327 Trump voters who would vote for him again, only 42 (or 13 percent) asked him to start behaving more presidential.”

But those messages were drowned out by supporters who not only refused to denounce their vote, but were actually still excited about the president’s agenda!

From WaPo:

The largest number of Trump voters sampled — representing millions of voters — asked the president to “stay strong,” “keep it up,” “hang in there” or “stay the course.” Many simply expressed their feelings as fans, as with the respondent who wrote, “Go Donald Go!” Others expressed excitement and pleasure over his performance, as with the voters who wrote:

“Keep up the good work…continue draining the swamp to bring America back to her greatness.”

“You are doing a wonderful job. Keep on doing what you are doing. The American people are behind you. Only those who do not respect what you are dissenting.”

We’ll see how long the mainstream media lingers on this poll before they go back to interviewing the liberal activists posing as “angry constituents” at these town halls.
