(PatriotNewsDaily.com) – Miles Taylor, who had worked as a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) staffer during the Trump administration revealed in a recent interview that he believed that House Speaker Kevin McCarthy privately considers former President Donald Trump to be a “buffoon.”
In 2018, Taylor became particularly well known after publishing an anonymous column in the Times called, “I Am Part of the Resistance Inside the Trump Administration.” The column received a lot of attention for its criticism of the internal state of the Trump federal administration.
Following his departure from the White House in 2019, Taylor has continued to be a big critic of Trump and has often engaged in Republican politics. In a recent interview with The Guardian on Tuesday in promotion of his new book, Taylor stated that the House Speaker had once referred to Trump as a “danger” to him.
He added that he believed Trump not only to be a “buffoon” but also a danger. Taylor added that McCarthy probably still believes the same thing in private but out of fear he continues to publicly support former President Donald Trump.
Later on in the interview, he spoke about how he received a lot of criticism for his piece about the Trump administration, however when he interviewed those same people and encouraged them to speak honestly had requested to remain anonymous. As he pointed out there is a lot of hypocrisy when it comes to the support that Trump has received.
McCarthy has not yet responded to this statement, however earlier this month he had stated that he is not sure whether Trump is the strongest candidate to defeat President Biden.
