(PatriotNewsDaily.com) – On Saturday night, during an interview, former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), who has announced that at the end of the year he would be exiting the House of Representatives, repeated that he would be interested in serving in a possible second Trump administration in 2025.

McCarthy argued during the interview that he expects President Donald Trump to win the 2024 GOP nomination. He added that regardless of whether he is in or out of the administration he would continue to help the country be successful. He added that he was repeatedly telling Trump that this is the time to restore, rebuild, and renew the country.

McCarthy and the former President have had a rocky relationship, especially as the former Speaker had refused to endorse Trump following the announcement of his bid for a second term in the White House. However, despite this choice, McCarthy continues to be a loyal ally of the former President.

Last week, McCarthy told “CBS News Sunday Morning” that he was going to be supporting Trump. While McCarthy has not yet stated what his post-Congress plan is, he has repeatedly been asked whether he would be willing to join a Trump Cabinet. In response, McCarthy argued that if he was the best person for the position then he would consider it.

He added that in the past he had worked a lot with the former President on policies and that they had also worked together to win the House majority. He proceeded to point out that he and Trump have a relationship where they are very honest with each other.
