(PatriotNewsDaily.com) – In an exclusive CNN interview, former Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) blasted Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) and argued that she did not deserve to be reelected in her post.
As McCarthy told interviewer Manu Raju, he predicted that Mace was not going to be reelected. However, he did state that this was not because she had voted to oust him from the Speaker position. Instead, he argued that for anyone who had “watched” her, it was clear that she was “flip-flopping” and that this was just part of her “philosophy.” This is why he does not believe she is going to be reelected, or that she has earned the right to be reelected.
During the full interview, McCarthy reportedly mentioned that he had been surprised by Reps. Nancy Mace (R-SC) and Tim Burchett (R-TN) joined the six other Republicans who voted for his removal. He argued that this did not seem to be natural but that the two representatives seemed to have changed their position over time.
McCarthy also claimed that the two were mainly focused on the press rather than policy.
McCarthy was ousted from office on October 3rd after all the Democrats and only eight Republicans voted to have him removed. After three weeks during which the House did not have a replacement, Rep. Mike Johnson (R-LA) was selected as the new Speaker, and the House started focusing on passing legislation again.
In response to McCarthy’s recent interview, Macy had argued that McCarthy constantly lied, while Burchett referred to him as “bitter.”
