(PatriotNewsDaily.com) – On Sunday, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) blasted President Joe Biden for advocating for renewable energy rather than natural gas.
During a Sunday interview with John Catsimatidis on WABC 770 AM’s “Cat’s Roundtable,” McCarthy stated that they had all witnessed how the Biden administration’s “horrendous decisions” had deeply affected Americans and had pushed the country away from energy independence. He further argued that the increase in fuel prices would only lead to more increases in inflation.
McCarthy claimed that if U.S. natural gas replaced Russian natural gas in Europe for a year, emissions would be reduced by 215 million tons. This is because U.S. gas is 41 percent cleaner than Russian gas. Still, he stated that the Biden administration was waging a war against the energy business and they were strictly advocating for renewable energy. This has led to an increase in energy prices, but no reductions in the amount of energy being bought. Instead, he noted that they were instead buying energy from the country’s “enemies.”
McCarthy also promoted the energy package that was passed earlier this year by the House but has not yet been voted on by the Senate. He added that the country is in a “sad place” but that has been a result of the Democratic policies followed by the Biden administration which are hurting the U.S. and its economy while helping their enemies get stronger. McCarthy says that this is why an American energy policy was needed to help the U.S. become independent while also taking advantage of all the different energy forms.
