( – Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) stated again on Sunday that she would continue to try to impeach Alejandro Mayorkas, the Secretary of the  Department of Homeland Security (DHS). She further stated that Mayorkas needed to be impeached because of the “failure” of the border policies followed by the Biden administration.

Many members of the GOP have repeatedly pushed that President Joe Biden and his administration have completely mismanaged the U.S. southern border which has led to severe security concerns. Greene has been one of the most outspoken critics pushing that Mayorkas needed to be impeached over the situation at the border. In recent weeks she has also slammed him for having been involved in the “invasion” of the United States by terrorists, illegal immigrants, and drugs.

On Monday, the House in a 209-201 vote decided against moving forward with the impeachment resolution that Greene had filed against Mayorkas. Only eight Republicans voted against the resolution along with all the Democrats. Greene following the vote expressed outrage for the lack of support and stated on Sunday on Fox News that she was going to continue trying to push forward the impeachment. She added that it was “outrageous” that so many people had voted against it. She further questioned how many “dead American bodies” were necessary before the GOP moved forward with an impeachment against Mayorkas.

Greene also stated that she would file her impeachment articles on the House floor again after the Thanksgiving break. She added that in this second attempt, the GOP would vote differently.
