(PatriotNewsDaily.com) – NBC News has received criticisms after they tried to draw a connection between the wife of Sen. JD Vance, Usha Vance, and illegal immigration. However, by contrast to what the network insinuated the wife of the former President is not an immigrant, she is rather an American citizen that has been born in the United States. Her parents were legal immigrants to the country.
These details however were not present in the headlines that NBC News had posted where it was pointed out that Republican presidential nominee and former President Donald Trump had called for a “mass deportation” if he is reelected.
In a post on X, NBC politics pointed out that during her debut in the Republican National Convention, Usha Vance had referred to her parents with great pride while being in front of people who were carrying “Mass Deportation” signs on the floor.
Newsmax2 host John Bachman was quick to slam the NBC News headlines by arguing that it is “clickbait” and that no one has been pushing for the deportation of legal migrants.
NBC reporter Sakshi Venkatraman also noted that during the RNC there had been a heavy “anti-immigrant sentiment” and that it was hypocritical having Usha Vance deliver her speech against the backdrop of signs that called for “mass deportation.” Venkatraman added that experts have argued that this speech had furthered the GOP’s good immigrant vs. bad immigrant narrative.
However, many of the experts who had been interviewed for Venkatraman’s story did not appear to know that Vance was not an immigrant and that her parents had in fact been legal immigrants into the country. Trump and the Republican platform have been pushing for a drop in illegal migration in order to provide for legal immigration.
