(PatriotNewsDaily.com) – The United States Park Police announced an investigation into the “criminal activity” that had taken place over the weekend in Lafayette Square, Washington, D.C., following the vandalization of statues by anti-Israel agitators.

On Saturday, there was a widespread protest in front of the White House with people opposing President Biden’s handling of the war in Gaza. Many of the protestors were chanting “Free Palestine” while also waving pro-Palestinian flags and marching across the U.S. capital.

Chaos erupted in the protest after some of the demonstrators started to use graffiti and spray paint to vandalize the statues located outside the White House.
Some other demonstrators also shouted verbal insults at the park rangers who were in the area calling them fascists and shouting “Piggy, piggy, oink, oink!” Some went as far as to throw their water bottles at the rangers while one man who was dressed in a Hamas headband carried a bloody face mask that depicted the President. He also shouted for an end to the occupation in Gaza, while a different demonstrator went as far as to light an American flag on fire.

The National Park Service public information office spokesperson noted that there was an ongoing investigation aimed at identifying anyone who was part of the criminal activity that took place on Saturday. As he pointed out safety was the most important thing for them, which is why along with local officials they were looking to establish some public safety during demonstrations.
