(PatriotNewsDaily.com) – On Wednesday during the first Republican primary debate, Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy once again shared his story of starting from a family that had migrated to the country with nothing to becoming the founder of a company worth millions of dollars. However, public records appear to show a completely different version of the entrepreneur’s upbringing.
In his opening remarks during the debate in Milwaukee which was hosted by Fox News, Ramaswamy claimed that he was “not a politician” but rather he was an entrepreneur. He proceeded to point out that his parents had arrived in the country four decades earlier and that in his life he has founded companies that are now worth billions.
During the debate, he further spoke about his support for school choice claiming that he had not had money while growing up. This is a narrative that he has often used on the campaign trail to connect with potential voters. It is also one of the points that helps separate him from former President Donald Trump.
In an ABC News interview before the presidential debate, he pointed out that unlike the former President he had built his companies from the start and he had not inherited anything. However, despite his claims, both of his parents were highly educated professionals, with his father holding an engineering degree. His mother, on the other hand, had a medical degree in geriatric psychiatry. Less than six months after her arrival in the U.S., she also received a license to practice in Oklahoma.
