(PatriotNewsDaily.com) – On Saturday evening, Bernice King, the daughter of Martin Luther King, Jr., condemned the recent fake image that features former President Donald Trump standing next to her father. The fake photo was tweeted by conservative commentator Brigitte Gabriel and it shows the two men walking together. In the caption, Gabriel had written that these were two of the greatest civil rights advocates in the country.
The photo was rebuked by Bernice King who has opposed the attempts of the conservatives to connect her father to their ideology. Republicans have repeatedly alleged that King Jr. would be a Trump supporter, however, there is no evidence to suggest that would have been the case. King Jr.’s children have opposed the efforts to connect the Republican party and their father, especially as during his lifetime their father had often supported left-leaning policies and had criticized capitalism.
In a tweet, King stated that she was not sure if Twitter would take any action against this but she requested people’s help in reporting the image. However, despite King’s attempts the video has so far not been taken down.
Many others have also opposed the image with Dr. Shola Mos-Shogbamimu, a lawyer and political commentator pointing out that they are co-opting the “words and likeness” of king junior in the same way that they had previously enabled the racist who is responsible for his death, adding that White Supremacy is sickening.
Two-time Super Bowl champion Torrey Smith also pointed out that the image was completely disrespectful and showed that the person who posted did not know history.
