(PatriotNewsDaily.com) – NBC News is getting slammed online after it posted an in-depth analysis looking into the parody account created to mock Representative Ocasio-Cortez.
On Wednesday, NBC News tweeted that there was an account mocking Ocasio-Cortez which had a surge in followers and engagement. They further stated that the account’s rise had been helped by Twitter’s CEO Elon Musk.
AOC has also tweeted out warning her supporters about the fake account that has been created, and that the people running it were impersonating her. She added that Musk’s engagement with the account led to it increasing the parody account’s visibility. She pointed out that the account had released a number of false policy statements that were gaining traction and that she was working with her team to figure out how to move forward.
Many journalists and commentators mocked NBC News for posting a detailed analysis of the parody account, and defense attorney Marina Medvin even tweeted out asking the outlet if it was a slow news day.
RedState editor-at-large Ben Kew also commented on the NBC analysis with laughing emojis.
The outlet in their own report stated that there were many false reports made by the parody account, one of which is pledging “$3 trillion in reparations to the transgender community” as well as a different post in which the parody account suggested that they were sending “10 million Americans to Ukraine.”
Many users have joked about how the parody account for being more “entertaining” than Ocasio-Cortez’s actual Twitter account.
