Podcast host Joe Rogan claimed that President Biden launching a reelection campaign was bad news for the Democratic party.
Rogan, during a segment on his show this week, argued that it was “wild” that Biden was choosing to run for a second term, especially when one watches how he talks. He added, “There’s no leadership that can find a solution to this, ’cause there really is no solution.” He proceeded to state that there was nothing they could do as Biden would most likely die soon and someone else would need to step up in his place.
On Tuesday, Biden, 80, announced through a pre-taped video that he was going to be running for reelection in 2024. If he successfully wins the Democratic nomination and then the presidential election he is going to be the oldest person to have ever been elected to the presidency for a second time.
While there are some Democrats who are concerned about Biden’s campaign for a second term, especially because of the concerns about his age, former President Trump, the frontrunner for the 2024 GOP nomination, is only four years younger than him. Still, there are many Democrats who are not too happy to see Biden running for a second term, but there are currently no serious primary challengers who could take him on.
The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs research in a February poll found that only 37 percent of Democrats want to see Biden seek a second term.
