Hold onto your hats, because we may be on the verge of finding out why – all of a sudden and seemingly out of the blue – a legion of Democrats and liberal pundits suddenly decided, “Hey, you know what, that Bill Clinton was kind of a creep back in the day!” We thought their sudden change of heart was due to the so-called “moment” we’re having when it comes to sexual assault accusations, combined with their desire to grab the moral high ground on Trump and Roy Moore. And we’re pretty sure that all figures into it.
But if author Edward Klein is right in his new, explosive reporting, there may be something bigger out there to explain the dramatic turnaround. There could be new sexual assault allegations getting ready to land against the former president any day now.
“Bill Clinton is facing explosive new charges of sexual assault from four women, according to highly placed Democratic Party sources and an official who served in both the Clinton and Obama administrations,” Klein wrote in the UK’s Daily Mail on Monday. “The current accusations against the 71-year-old former president — whose past is littered with charges of sexual misconduct — stem from the period after he left the White House in 2001, say the sources. Attorneys representing the women, who are coordinating their efforts, have notified Clinton they are preparing to file four separate lawsuits against him.”
Klein’s sources are telling him that Clinton sexually assaulted the women while working for Ron Burkle in the years following his presidency. Lawyers for the women are reportedly asking for significant payouts to keep their silence; if Clinton does not meet their demands, they are poised to not only file suit against him but hold press conferences outlining the details of the harassment. Klein doesn’t go into specifics about the allegations, but we can assume they are not trivial given the pressure facing the former president.
One of Klein’s sources said that Hillary Clinton is livid about the possibility of yet another sex scandal involving her husband.
“Hillary wants to remain in the public eye as a leader of the resistance to Donald Trump and play a major role in politics for years to come, including maybe even running for president again in 2020,” the source told Klein. “She’s afraid this latest scandal could destroy the Clinton legacy and torpedo her plans.”
It is sad, in a way, that Hillary actually thinks that her plans of running for president again would need to be derailed by a sex scandal involving her husband. Honey…it’s over. It’s BEEN over. In fact, we’re not sure this was ever a viable dream for you to begin with. It’s time to let it go.
And as for Bill, well, if there’s anyone more fit to be the poster child for this “moment” we’re having in sexual harassment culture, we can’t think of them. Clinton kicked this whole thing off long before Harvey Weinstein. It’s only appropriate that it should swing full circle to bite the grandfather of sexual impropriety and abuse of power himself. We can only hope that, when it’s all said and done, his 1990s defenders will also be held accountable for their choices.
