(PatriotNewsDaily.com) – The U.S. Customs and Border Protection recent report showed that September had a record high of encounters bringing the total encounters in 2023 up to 2.47 million. The report further noted that the 269,735 illegal crossings reported in September had caused a stain on CBP personnel and resources.

Every year since the start of President Joe Biden’s term in office there has been a new all-time record for monthly encounters. While there were reports about the high number of illegal crossings for days, the Biden administration only released the information on Saturday in a reported attempt to reduce exposure to the news.

Troy Miller, a senior CBP official, noted in a statement that in September there was a high number of encounters that had “surged resources and personnel.” He added that they were working with both domestic and foreign partners in order to address the migration wave from the southern hemisphere. He added that they were looking to “enforce consequences” for the illegal migrants entering the country and that they were going to prepare for “direct repatriations to Venezuela.”

According to the CBP records in the 2021 fiscal year, there were a total of 1,734,686 while in 2022 there were 2,378,944 encounters. So far in the 2023 fiscal year, there have been 2,475,669 encounters. By comparison during the Trump administration, there were 458,088 migrant encounters as reported by CBP.

Many immigration experts have also argued that the illegal encounters and crossing are not a fair representation of the millions of “got-aways” that have managed to cross into the United States undetected.
