(PatriotNewsDaily.com) – The House’s Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government, formed by the GOP-led lower chamber, will have the authority to assess “ongoing criminal investigations,” including probes directed at former President Donald Trump.

The subcommittee — which will be led by House Judiciary Committee chairman Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) — will also be able to access the classified information available to the House Intelligence Committee.

The subcommittee will likely conduct oversight into the probes into Trump, as concerns circulate that President Joe Biden has been using government agencies to go after his chief political rival.

Although the two are not yet confirmed rivals, Biden is expected to announce his bid for Reelection in the coming months, while Trump announced his intention to control the Oval Office in November.

Under the Biden administration, the Department of Justice has appointed a special counsel to oversee the alleged mishandling of classified information behind the August 2022 FBI search and seizure at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence.

Special Counsel, Jack Smith, is also overseeing Trump’s actions in the January 6 Capitol riot.

A Georgia grand jury is also investigating Trump for a phone call with Georgia officials, where he asked them to “find” the votes to cause the state’s election results to swing in his favor.

Trump has dismissed the Probes as being used by rivals to score political points against him rather than stemming from allegations with substance.

The subcommittee is also expected to assess the Twitter Files if government agencies and the FBI were able to influence the flow of information at Twitter.
