The Obama administration is continuing to ramp up the United States’s rate of acceptance, trying to hit a goal of bringing in 10,000 Syrian refugees by the end of the fiscal year. With only ten weeks left until that deadline, the federal government is letting in more refugees than ever. And despite President Obama’s insistence that it would be un-American to place a religious test on refugees, the vast majority of admitted asylum-seekers are Muslim.
According to a new report from the State Department, 6,726 Syrian refugees have been admitted into the U.S. in the current fiscal year. Of those, only three were Christians. Not three percent, mind you. Three people. Three individual Christians. A staggering 0.3%. On the other hand, 99% were Sunni Muslim. Not just Muslim, but Sunni Muslim. If you’re not up to date on which Muslims are which, here’s a clue: The Islamic State is a Sunni organization. These are the people we’re resettling in our communities.
Obama’s tragic biases, of course, are hardly worth worrying about anymore. No matter what happens in November, Obama’s time is coming to an end. That’s a cause for celebration, regardless of who wins the election.
Unfortunately, Hillary Clinton has promised to not only continue Obama’s Syrian refugee program, she has vowed to push the numbers even higher. In September, Clinton said, “I would like to see us move from what is a good start with 10,000 to 65,000 and begin immediately to put into place the mechanisms for vetting the people that we would take in.”
Well, Mrs. Clinton, don’t you think we should have those mechanisms in place before we let in even a single refugee, much less 65,000 of them? Don’t you think there’s something funny about a refugee program that’s so out-of-sync with the demographic makeup of the region?
We can wait for Clinton to take a closer look at these shenanigans, or we can vote for a man who has endorsed closing down the refugee program altogether. With Donald Trump at the helm, we can be sure that our federal government is not subjecting us to inordinate danger just for the sake of political correctness.
Isn’t that the least we can ask?
