(PatriotNewsDaily.com) – On Friday, Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker (D) sent a letter to Gov. Greg Abbott (R) of Texas asking that he stop the transportation of migrants with buses due to the “life-threatening” winter weather in the Midwest.
In the letter, which had been shared by reporters online, they noted that they were transporting asylum seekers from Texas to the Upper Midwest in the middle of winter. As he pointed out, many migrants were being transported with shoes and coats that could help protect them from the cold and snow. He further noted that the shelters in the region were already overfilled with the migrants that the Texas governor had previously sent to the Midwest.
Pritzker in the letter pointed out that the temperature in Chicago was forecasted to be below zero this weekend. He added that Abbott’s decision to send buses and planes carrying migrants in this weather condition was life-threatening to all of the arrivals. He further pointed out that there were hundreds of children and families whose health and survival were at risk because of the action taken by Abbott.
Many high-profile Democrats have previously slammed Abbott over his migrant busing operations. New York City Mayor Eric Adams referred to Abbott earlier this week as “mean-spirited.” He had also noted that previously he had tried to coordinate with the Texas governor but had been unsuccessful, which is why they were now taking legal action. He added that history would show how much devastation Abbott had caused to people’s lives.
