Kimberly Guilfoyle blasted her ex-husband, California’s Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom, during conservative Turning Point USA’s America Fest on Sunday. Newsom is widely suspected to be preparing a bid for the White House.
Newsom easily managed to win his reelection campaign in California and has been one of the potential alternative candidates for the White House if President Joe Biden chooses not to get a second White House bid. Newsom has widely embraced a number of liberal policies which have helped bring him to the forefront of the political stage. He has also been criticized by many Republicans who 2021 tried to recall him.
Guilfoyle, a prominent right-wing personality currently engaged to Donald Trump Jr., was previously married to Newsom from 2001 to 2006. On Sunday during a speech, she criticized her ex-husband over his alleged aspirations to win the White House. Guilfoyle claimed that in California it was possible to promise to get “rid of gas-powered cars with no explanation of how they are going to fund and power alternatives” and yet win. She continued to say that there was no way Newsom would make it to the White House.
While in 2024, it might be complicated for the governor to get to the White House, especially since President Joe Biden might be running, that does not mean that Newsom will not have chances in the future to place a bid for the White House.
