(PatriotNewsDaily.com) – While so far in the 2024 presidential cycle Republicans have predominantly been focused on the flaws of the front-runner of their party, with President Trump being considered the most likely nominee, their attention has now turned as other candidates are added to the race against Biden. The GOP is hoping that the addition of additional members to the 2024 Democratic primary race is going to lead to infighting within the Democratic party.
Rep. Dean Phillips (D-MN) was the latest candidate to launch a presidential bid against Biden whose numbers in the polls have been dropping. Republicans are hopeful that this addition is going to stir attention away from Trump and his legal troubles and controversies, as well as from the recent troubles with electing a new House Speaker.
GOP strategist Brian Seitchik stated that the Democrats were worried about anything that could disturb the race between Biden and Trump. He added that the GOP was pleased that while Biden’s numbers were going down, Trump’s numbers were improving.
This past week Biden’s ratings had indeed deteriorated further. Still, many Democrats support the President’s bid for a second term in office despite the fact that many voters in his party would prefer to not see him win another term. The Republicans are using this fact as ammunition against Biden.
On Thursday, a new Gallup poll showed that the President’s approval rating among Democrats had dropped by 11 points. His numbers are now at an all-time low with his approval rating having dropped to 37 percent.
