(PatriotNewsDaily.com) – Late on Wednesday, former Trump admin White House lawyer Ty Cobb revealed that there was an alleged audio recording that revealed that former President Trump had been discussing the classified documents following his exit from the White House. He further claimed that the recording completely “eviscerates” Trump’s defense in the Department of Justice’s classified documents investigation.

In an interview with CNN’s Erin Burnett, Cobb stated that the recording went against Trump’s previous claims about the documents being declassified just because he had decided they were when he removed them from the White House. Trump’s previous assertion that just by thinking about it he could declassify documents has been questioned by many experts.

During the interview, Cobb argued that the recording further helps the obstruction case being built against Trump, and it destroys Trump’s defense going forward.

Earlier on Wednesday, CNN reported that the Department of Justice had an audio recording in which Trump was discussing a classified document that he had in his possession that referred to a possible U.S. attack on Iran. The recording was allegedly taken during a meeting at his golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey in July 2021.

Trump and his allies have frequently defended the former President over the documents that were found in his Mar-a-Lago estate by claiming that the documents had been declassified. However, Cobb states that in the recording, which was taken after Trump had left the White House, he acknowledges that there are limits when it comes to these specific documents that are in his possession.
