Florida Sheriff Urges Residents to Shoot Intruders!

An outspoken Florida sheriff has urged homeowners to shoot intruders and save taxpayers the money spent on trials and prison for home invaders!

Santa Rosa Sheriff Bob Johnson made the remarks after an unidentified Sunshine Stater fired at a burglar who had at least 17 prior arrests on his record last week.

Johnson declared that the property owner shouldn’t be afraid to come forward because they have done nothing wrong.

“If someone breaks unto your house, you are more than welcome to shoot them in Santa Rosa County,” Johnson deadpanned in front of reporters. “We prefer that you do, actually.”

The Sheriff then went on to politely offer firearm lessons to the unnamed resident so that they could “improve their aim.”

“You’re not in trouble,” he said. “Come see us. We have a gun safety class we put on every other Saturday. If you take that, you’ll shoot a lot better, and hopefully, you’ll save taxpayers money.”

Florida’s controversial “stand your ground” law specifies that a homeowner faced with an intruder “has no duty to retreat and has the right to stand his or her ground and use or threaten to use deadly force.”

Calling him a justice system “frequent flyer” at the press conference, Johnson, a 40-year law enforcement veteran, said the alleged intruder, Brandon Harris, was first arrested at age 13 and once did six years in prison for a home invasion.

“He just can’t seem to get the picture that crime does not pay,” Johnson said, adding that he had felony outstanding warrants before his arrest last week.

More than a dozen deputies were first dispatched to the Pace neighborhood Wednesday after 911 callers reported a suspicious man breaking into homes.

They set up a perimeter and deployed police dogs as Harris continued “jumping fences and breaking into houses as he goes,” Johnson said.

One fed-up resident shot at Harris as he tried to break into their home, Johnson said.

The frantic crook was finally cornered in the closet in the bedroom of yet another house he had busted into.

Surrounded, he suddenly fled out of the room with officers in pursuit and jumped through a window before being taken into custody in a backyard, Johnson said.

“Hopefully, this time, he’ll go, and he won’t get out,” Johnson said, noting that he chased a woman into a home with children inside and that she was barely able to lock the door before he could enter.

“He doesn’t care about anybody but himself, and hopefully, he goes to prison for the rest of his life,” the Sheriff said.

Johnson lamented that criminals were being gifted the upper hand in soft-on-crime states like New York, California, and Illinois.

“If you allow criminals certain liberties with your citizens, they are going to take the extra mile,” he said of spiraling crime in other parts of the country. “That’s why people are leaving these areas in droves. You don’t have the right to protect yourself or your property.”

  1. Absolutely love it!
Should also hold true for riots and car-jackings!

  2. I Like It!
    • For now, most perps know they can get away with almost anything. If they feared for their lives, less crime would be the result.

  3. Yes criminals here in California know the law is on there side and definitely take advantage of that. Plus these idiots in the justice department deliberately cause citizens to be afraid of defending they’re family and property while they the law makers have security for them and they’re family at the tax payers expense.

  4. I THINKK PEOPLE MUST HAVE WAY TO DEFEND THENSERLVES CANT DEPEND ON POPLOICE ANYMORER
I ALSO THINK EVERY OIL COMPANY SHOULD SEE IF THEY CAQN BUY LAND ASROUND ONE OF BIDENS PLOACES AND BUILD OIL DERREDCT LET HIM SEE HOW BADF HE IS DOING THE COUNTRY

  5. The deputy who taught my concealed carry class advised the same!

  6. I like it too! There’s always going to be the day they come in to the wrong house! As well, I just watched a video of a carjacking. The criminals surround the car, knowing they’re not going to get run over. In this case, they beat the car owner as well once they have him out. Besides the fact that no one around will come to the car owner’s aid (a subject for another time), I don’t think they should count on people being so polite as to not run them over. If I am fearing r for my life or that of my children, I think that’s exactly what I would be forced to do, and that’s unfortunate! I’m sick to death of criminals terrorizing people, and they suffer no consequences!

  7. Spot on give that home owner a reward maybe 1000.00 dollars for each felon shot and buried and offer the same reward to anyone else saving the taxpayers money and starving the crooked lawyers out.

  8. Well good for him. We spend a ton of money in the criminal justice system with trials , jails, etc and most are repeat offenders. Time to stop spending money and make prison a punishment and make them pay for their own stay and trial or just shoot to kill and skip the BS

  9. i was cleaning my cement front porch 2 young black ladies walked up and wanting me to by there cleaning product i told them i was not goin by it they then said were selling this to keep people from breaking into my home i said you might break in but they will carry you out they said something i could not understand they made a face and walked away
