What a piece of work this guy is.
This weekend, Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan traveled to Iran to express his solidarity with the Islamic Republic and relish the rampant anti-semitism and anti-Americanism that both he and the Iranian leadership enjoy wallowing in so much. At a crucial point in the U.S.-Iran relationship, which is set to become quite fraught with the re-implementation of economic sanctions against the regime, Farrakhan thought it would be a good time to go see his Islamist buddies and assure them that he was on their side.
“I understand how the enemies have plotted against the Iranian people and I would like to stay alongside you to stop their plots,” Farrakhan told Iranian government official Mohsen Rezaei.
Gee, is Farrakhan saying he would like to stay in Iran? If President Hassan Rouhani will agree to that, Trump should consider it a major olive branch towards nuclear negotiations. Hell, will you consider taking Keith Ellison, Linda Sarsour, and that idiot who runs the Southern Poverty Law Center while you’re at it? There are quite a few Americans who seem like they would be more comfortable living in an oppressive Islamic environment. At the very least, they might eventually realize that “fascist America” is not as bad as they thought.
Farrakhan brought a whole litany of American criticisms with him to Tehran, telling Iranians that the U.S. government was evil for supporting Saudi Arabia. “Satan seeks to divide Muslims and wants them to kill each other,” he said, “while God tells us in the Quran to be united.”
He blasted the Trump administration for putting Iran under considerable economic pressure.
“Today, I warn the American government that sanctioning Iran is a big mistake,” he said.
And in a speech before students at the University of Tehran, Farrakhan said: “America has never been a democracy and has always leaned towards the wealthy and powerful class.”
Yeah, well, about that last part: It describes humanity throughout the history of the world, so you haven’t exactly uncovered any great secret, Reverend.
He then joined the students in a rousing chant of, “Death to America!”
What a guy. It would be a damn shame if he experienced some, er, passport issues on his way back to the U.S.
