( – In a notable appearance on Fox News, Nikki Haley, a contender for the Republican presidential nomination, expressed strong reservations about former President Trump’s recent actions and rhetoric. Haley, who previously served as the Governor of South Carolina, described Trump’s behavior as “completely irrational,” particularly highlighting his recent declaration to exclude donors who support her campaign.

Haley voiced her concerns about the Republican National Committee’s (RNC) premature inclination to endorse Trump as the de facto nominee after only a minimal number of states had conducted their primaries. This move, which Trump initially seemed to support before distancing himself from it, drew Haley’s ire.

During her interview, Haley remarked, “On the night of the election, Trump took to the stage, exhibiting sheer outrage, focusing solely on retribution, yet he neglected to mention the American populace. He failed to address his plans to tackle the excessive spending he once endorsed, nor did he discuss his strategies for enhancing border security or averting conflict, diverging from his previous presidency.”

Haley reiterated her dismay at Trump’s intimidation tactics towards her supporters, stressing the absurdity of a president, who ought to represent all Americans, attempting to ostracize individuals from a so-called “MAGA club” for supporting her candidacy in the 2024 primary.

Furthermore, Haley criticized Trump for his alleged attempts to persuade RNC members to prematurely anoint him as the nominee, a strategy that met with significant resistance and forced a retraction. This proposed resolution, led by RNC committee member David Bossie, faced opposition for potentially undermining the primary election process and limiting voter choice.

In her conversation with Fox News host Dana Perino, Haley revealed her disappointment in RNC Chair Ronna McDaniel, who had suggested the party consolidate support around Trump, emphasizing her commitment to the American electorate above internal party dynamics. Haley’s stance underscores a significant rift within the Republican Party, highlighting the challenges and debates surrounding its direction and leadership.
