(PatriotNewsDaily.com) – Former United Nations ambassador and 2024 GOP presidential candidate Nikki Haley is now being seen as a possible alternative to former President Donald Trump for the GOP nomination as she has been nearing Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) in the primary polls.
Following the two primary presidential debates Haley has been receiving a lot of attention and praise. This has led to the former President targeting his former UN ambassador more. This past week Haley also won the endorsement of former Rep. Will Hurd (TX) who is a former Republican presidential candidate.
Hurd opted to drop out of the 2024 presidential primary in favor of endorsing Haley, who he has stated has exhibited a different vision for the country and has an incredible grasp of foreign policy.
While DeSantis continues to be in the number two spot in most polls, Haley has managed to slowly close the gap between herself and the Florida governor. Republican strategist Ford O’Connell has pointed out that Haley has managed to raise a lot of interest and has gained the attention of many donors. Many Trump critics have also turned their attention to Haley as DeSantis has struggled to gain traction at the polls.
Conservative commentator George Will in a column for the Washington Post also claimed that Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) should drop out of the presidential race in favor of endorsing Haley. As he stated Scott had the option to leave his campaign and acknowledge that his campaign had failed to generate the necessary enthusiasm.
