(PatriotNewsDaily.com) – Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is planning to kick off his presidential campaign with a tour that will take him to 12 cities in three states as he tries to win support for his presidential campaign and establish himself as the most important challenger to former President Donald Trump.

DeSantis’ first stop is going to be in Iowa. The two-day trip to the early primary state is going to start with a visit to a suburban Des Moines megachurch and end at a Cedar Rapids racetrack. He is then going to stop in two other early primary states New Hampshire and South Carolina. DeSantis, whose presidential campaign launch was marred with technical difficulties will need to use the start of his campaign to formalize his place as a contender in the presidential race.

On Tuesday evening DeSantis is scheduled to visit Eternity Church in Clive, in an attempt to win the support of the evangelical Christians who have significant influence in Iowa’s Republican presidential caucuses.

Bernie Hayes, the Republican chair in Linn County, pointed out that DeSantis has a long road ahead of him and that it is going to be hard to bring people on his side and convince them that he can do the job as good or better than Trump.

For months, DeSantis has been attacked by Trump and his campaign but he has rarely retaliated or responded. However, this changed last week when DeSantis called a bipartisan bill Trump signed in 2018 “a jailbreak bill.” The bill cut down the mandatory minimum federal prison sentences and allowed ways for prison time to be reduced.
