( – The Democrats are growing more and more anxious over the increase in migrants crossing into the country through the southern border. Their recent actions have further exhibited that they are nervous about the political liability of this issue, which appeared to be a primary concern for voters.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) is increasing his efforts on putting out a message on border security, while also telling his colleagues that he intended to have the bipartisan Senate border security deal, which had previously failed, back on the Senate floor for a vote next week. He has also argued that there was the possibility that the legislation could be broken up into multiple components which would be separately introduced.

At the same time, the Senate Democrats are increasing the pressure on the Biden administration to address the vast increase in migrants who are entering the country, even if Congress fails to pass any legislation.

Last week, Sen. Jon Tester (D-MT), who is considered to be the most vulnerable Democratic incumbent in the Senate, argued that the current state of the southern border was unacceptable. He was also one of the first Democrats in the Senate to cosponsor the Laken Riley Act which would require those people who have entered the country illegally and have been found to commit certain crimes should be removed from the country.

The Senate Democrats are pushing for further executive action to be taken by President Biden to secure the border.
