( – Democrats’ political committee dealing with state legislatures has launched an affiliated nonprofit. This is the first step in a digital ad campaign regarding abortion rights that will be playing in Virginia.

Following the 2022 midterm election, when abortion proved to be a strong point for Democrats, the party is continuing to use abortion rights in its campaigns. Virginia is one of four states that are set to have a legislative election this year. This means that both members of the state House and Senate will have to face a highly competitive election in November.

The State Democracy Action fund is now running a new campaign ad that focuses on warning the state that it might be possible that “extremist lawmakers” in the state along with GOP Gov. Glenn Youngkin might choose to enforce a ban on abortions after the 15th week of pregnancy.

The ads are only another sign that the Democrats are heavily leaning on the abortion issue in elections. Kate Stoner, the new executive director of State Democracy Action Fund has pointed out that this is currently on the forefront of people’s minds, and people in Virginia should know what is going on.

This is not the only Democratic campaign focused on abortion policy. Following the overturning of Roe v. Wade in June by the Supreme Court, Democrats have been using abortion rights as one of the key items in their agenda. This led to them having a surprisingly positive midterm election where they elected a number of Democratic governors and even increased their majority in the Senate while only losing the House by a few seats.
