(PatriotNewsDaily.com) – The Democrats are looking to present former President Donald Trump’s running mate as a “MAGA extremist” regardless of who ends up being selected. A new report from the Washington Examiner noted that Trump is most likely planning on announcing his pick for vice president next month during the Republican convention in Milwaukee.
President Joe Biden and the Democratic Party aim to depict Trump’s vice-presidential candidate as someone who would be entirely compliant with Trump’s directives. A Democratic operative compared potential VP candidates to former Vice President Mike Pence, referencing the January 6th Capitol attack and implying that Pence failed to moderate Trump’s actions.
The Biden 2024 reelection campaign along with the Democratic National Committee (DNC) has been sending to stakeholders and media messages focused on how Trump’s criteria for selecting a running mate are focused on extremism and loyalty to Trump over the country.
According to some reports, Trump’s shortlist of possible candidates has been reduced to former HUD Secretary Ben Carson, North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum, Sens. Marco Rubio (Florida), Tim Scott (South Carolina), J.D. Vance (Ohio), Tom Cotton (Arkansas), and Representative Elise Stefanik (New York).
The DNC is planning to put forward similar national television and radio ads blasting Trump’s pick ahead of the Republican National Convention. This is part of the general effort to undermine Trump’s choice of vice president in the upcoming November race. The Democrats have also been pushing forward the importance of abortion, tax policy, health care, and other key issues ahead of the election.
