This is turning out to be quite the year for violent leftists.
First we had those disturbing videos from Project Veritas, showing Bernie Sanders staffers dreaming about the day they can march Republicans into re-education camps so they can learn to be good little boys and girls during the Grand Revolution. Then there was the jackass in Florida who destroyed a Republican voter registration tent with his van. Let’s not forget about the overgrown doofus who tried beating up a teenager Trump supporter at a polling place in New Hampshire, or the woman who attacked a man in Nashville for wearing a red hat on his birthday that said “Make 50 Great Again.” They’ve really come off the chain in 2020.
Where could they be learning this behavior from? Maybe from Democrats like Rep. John Garamendi (D-CA), who appeared on MSNBC on Friday to insinuate that he was ready to physically assault Donald Trump Jr. for his remarks about Democrats.
“The president’s son was on this morning and suggested, or said outright that Democrats are taking a pandemic seemingly hoping, I’m quoting, quote, it comes here and kills millions of people so it can end the president’s streak of winning,” said host Hallie Jackson. “He called that a new level of sickness. I want to give you an opportunity to respond to that comment from Don Junior.”
“He should not be near me when he says that,” Garamendi said ominously.
“Why not?” asked Jackson.
“There would be a serious altercation,” the congressman said. “That’s totally outrageous. I can assure you there’s not a Democrat or Republican in I can assure you there’s not a Democrat or Republican in Congress that wants anybody to be sick.”
In case his meaning was lost, Garamendi repeated himself: “Don Jr. better not get any place close to me. It would not be a healthy situation.”
Donald Trump Jr.’s spokesman quickly released a statement criticizing the congressman and MSNBC.
“The outrageous remarks from Congressman Garamendi were beyond the pale and should be universally condemned by Republicans and Democrats alike,” spokesman Andrew Surabian said. “Almost as outrageous as the Congressman’s comments was the lack of pushback or condemnation from MSNBC host Hallie Jackson, whose silence about political violence aimed towards a member of the first family was truly deafening.
“By threatening Don Jr. with physical violence on national TV, Congressman Garamendi made clear to everyone watching that he is better suited to represent Antifa than the people of California’s 3rd Congressional district,” the statement concluded.
It’s unlikely that Don Jr. is shaking in his boots, but just imagine if a Republican said something like this about Hunter Biden.
Not that the constant double standards are anything new.
