Former Democratic New York Governor Andrew Cuomo blasted Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg. Bragg’s investigation could result in former President Donald Trump being prosecuted for his role in the hush money payment made to adult film star Stormy Daniels. He further accused Bragg, saying that the move was politically motivated.

On Friday Night, the former governor during an appearance on WABC Radio said that he did not know why Bragg was “putting such emphasis on this case.” He continued by saying that he understands that a person may have broken the law, but on a state level, this particular case would be a misdemeanor at best. In reality, he said, it is a federal case as it deals with a “campaign finance fraud case,” and that would be the direction Bragg would need to go in if he wanted to turn this case into a felony.

Cuomo added that the public tends to be “cynical” when a prosecutor brings a case against a political figure. He proceeded to allege that “it’s all politics.” He goes on to say that this is what people across the nation believe and that it was not “a coincidence that Bragg goes after Trump and Tish James goes after Trump and Georgia goes after Trump.”

However, despite his accusations about Bragg, Cuomo argued that he believed that an indictment would be handed down within the next week.
