(PatriotNewsDaily.com) – On Sunday, Rep. Jim Jordan criticized the Department of Justice under Attorney General Merrick Garland for not taking timely action regarding Hunter Biden’s alleged tax discrepancies, referencing a heated debate from a recent House Judiciary Committee hearing.
Jordan pointed out to FOX News’ Maria Bartiromo: “Hunter Biden joined Burisma’s board and received substantial compensation. He didn’t seem to have the qualifications for that role. Subsequently, the executives from Burisma approached him for assistance due to the challenges they were encountering. Meanwhile, Joe Biden ensured the removal of a particular prosecutor, leveraging U.S. taxpayer funds in the process.”
Jordan expressed his dismay, “The Garland-led Justice Department appears to have ignored the issue to such an extent that they missed the deadline to address some of the gravest tax irregularities tied to Hunter Biden from 2014 and 2015. Those years are significant because of the income associated with Burisma.”
This discussion arose in the wake of Garland’s extended appearance at the House Judiciary Committee hearing the previous week. The session was significant due to a notable disagreement between Garland and Jordan. Garland, when questioned, clarified that U.S. Attorney David Weiss, who was appointed during Trump’s tenure, was overseeing the investigation and should be approached for specifics regarding the statute of limitations.
Throughout his testimony, Garland emphasized that his discussions with Weiss did not delve into the Hunter Biden case’s specifics and highlighted that Weiss was entrusted with the investigation’s entirety. He further reiterated his role, stating he doesn’t serve as “the president’s lawyer” and the Department’s responsibility is “to adhere strictly to facts and law.”
On Sunday, Jordan stated, “Our commitment to our constitutional duty remains intact. As previously mentioned by the Speaker, we have initiated an impeachment inquiry. We are scheduling interviews with various DOJ personnel, and David Weiss is set to testify before the committee on October 18th.”
House Republicans persist in their quest to investigate the Biden family’s purported questionable business undertakings, with several members highlighting evidence from emails and statements from informants.
