CNN Writer on Northam: Some Racists Have Really Helped Blacks!

We really didn’t think anyone on the left would stoop this low, but now we’re not sure what the hell we were thinking. Of COURSE they’re willing to go this low! There is no depth to which they will not sink to protect their own. President Trump makes the obvious connection between a Mexican judge and his vow to build a wall, and he’s a racist of the worst degree. But if we have photographic evidence of Democrat Ralph Northam dressing up in blackface for his yearbook? Oh, well, that’s unfortunate, but hear this: Some of the best people in America were really racists!

No, we’re not making this up, and yes, this is of course from CNN. Writer John Blake, CNN’s man-on-the-scene when it comes to race relations, decided to pen the digital equivalent of a standing ovation for the racists who have helped black people through the years.

No, really:

It’s an easy call to make, right?

A photo on a governor’s old yearbook page surfaces showing a person in blackface and another wearing a white Ku Klux Klan hood.

The photo can’t be written off as a “youthful indiscretion” because the people in it are adults.

What more do you need to know? The damage to Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam’s credibility is so beyond repair that some critics say he has to go.

But here’s an uncomfortable truth that photo won’t reveal: Some of the biggest champions for black people in America’s past have been white politicians who were racists.

After telling us all about the racist proclivities of Lyndon Johnson, Supreme Court Justice Hugo Black, and even Abraham Lincoln, Blake assures us that sometimes we have to take the good with the bad.

“The point of these examples is not to offer a historical loophole for any leader caught being blatantly racist,” he writes, even though that’s exactly what it is. “What happens to Northam is ultimately up to the people he serves and to his conscience. But what I’m saying is that what matters to some black people — not all, maybe not even most — is not what a white politician did 30 years ago. It’s what he’s doing for them today.”

Yes, like championing for the murder of your infant babies.
