(PatriotNewsDaily.com) – On Sunday, during an interview on ABC’s “This Week” with George Stephanopoulos, Chris Christie, one of the 2024 Republican presidential candidates, argued that former President Donald Trump would never acknowledge that he lost the 2020 presidential election despite knowing he did.
Christie noted that Trump does not think he won that election, but because of his “ego,” he would never publicly admit that he had lost. He further argued that before the election, Trump had shared his concerns about losing directly with Christie.
The former New Jersey governor then added that Trump is aware that he did not win the 2020 presidential campaign, but his ego would never allow him to acknowledge that he is the only person in the country to have ever lost to President Joe Biden outside of his home state of Delaware.
Despite Trump’s loss in the 2020 presidential election, he is running again in 2024 and has continued to push the narrative that the previous presidential election was rigged. His frequent comments about this perceived fraud have led to a large part of the population mistrusting the accuracy of the U.S. election process. This was also one of the primary reasons for the U.S. Capitol insurrection on January 6th, 2021.
Trump repeatedly tried to block the transfer of power and tried to find ways to stay in power. These attempts are now being investigated in both criminal and federal court. Previously, a House special committee also looked into Trump’s role in instigating the Capitol attack.
