( – Chair of the House Oversight and Accountability Committee, Rep. James Comer, R-Ky., has started intensifying the probe into the classified documents found in Biden’s private office in the Penn Biden Center in Washington, D.C., six days before the midterm elections.

As Comer noted the primary concern right now is determining who might have had access to the documents, as well as determining what financial ties the Biden family had with foreign companies and actors. As part of their investigation, the committee has written to Mary Elizabeth Magill, president of the University of Pennsylvania for more documents relating to the Penn Biden Center which would help with the investigation.

A previously published New York Post story shows that from 2014 to June 2019, UPenn received $54.6 million in Chinese donations. From that amount, around $23.1 million was given in anonymous gifts at the start of 2016. The majority of these donations were given after the Penn Biden Center was opened.

Antony Blinken, the current secretary of state, had briefly acted as the Penn Biden center’s managing director following its opening in February 2018. In May of that same year, a $14.5 million donation was given to the university.

In his letter to Magill, Comer pointed out that it was important for the American people to know the extent to which the Chinese Communist party might be influencing the Biden administration. He added that the donations could potentially mean that the administration is compromised.
