Child Abuse Center Hires Trans Professor That Defended Pedophiles

Johns Hopkins Moore Center for the Prevention of Child Sexual Abuse has hired a former Old Dominion University professor who was put on leave after claiming that sexual attraction to children is not always immoral, and that he wants to destigmatize pedophiles by referring to them as “minor-attracted persons” (MAPs), instead.

“We are excited to share that Allyn Walker, PhD, will be joining the Moore Center as a postdoctoral fellow on May 25,” the Moore Center for the Prevention of Child Sexual Abuse announced on Thursday.

The Johns Hopkins University center aims to prevent child sexual abuse, and to advance that mission has hired hired Allyn Walker, who, ironically, is trying to coin the term “minor-attracted persons” in the place of “pedophiles,” and wrote a book, titled, A Long Dark Shadow: Minor-Attracted People and Their Pursuit of Dignity.

In a video that surfaced late last year, Walker explained that she uses the term “Minor-Attracted Person” or “MAP” when referring to pedophiles throughout her book, “because I think it’s important to use terminology for groups that members of that group want others to use for them.”

The professor added that “MAP advocacy groups” have advocated for use of the term “primarily because it’s less stigmatizing than other terms like, ‘pedophile.’”

“A lot of people, when they hear the term pedophile, they automatically assume that it means a sex offender, and that isn’t true. And it leads to a lot of misconceptions about attractions toward minors,” Walker added.

The professor also addressed those who say using a term like “Minor-Attracted Person” suggests that “it’s okay to be attracted to children,” by arguing that “using a term that communicates who someone is attracted to doesn’t indicate anything about the morality of that attraction.”

In November, Walker resigned from her position at Old Dominion University, claiming that her research was “mischaracterized by some in the media and online,” in part, due to her being a transgender biological woman.

“That research was mischaracterized by some in the media and online, partly on the basis of my trans identity,” Walker insisted.

  5. So they now have no patients.

  6. No wonder the rest of the world no longer respects the US. We are all absolute idiots to allow these people around our children? This madness will continue until we have people and officials who stand up and say enough of this and get these people out of education. I believe everyone is entitled to live their lives as they please as long as they do not use their positions to touch, encourage children to try their lifestyle or force their beliefs on others. Why should my children be forced to hear about somones life style in school?

  7. Paula Jean Smith

He is older than the age of consent. And the children? How much of a say so they have? After all, they are only CHILDREN! What rights will they have? The same as people who advocate partial birth abortion and live birth deaths of babies?? So Sad, So SICK!

  8. So much for John’s Hopkins credibility. Why are businesses so afraid of the LGBTQ group? Why do they hold such power over them? JH better get ready for some major lawsuits.
