(PatriotNewsDaily.com) -Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg on Sunday avoided answering a question on whether or not President Biden was going to seek a second term in the White House. Buttigieg focused on praising the president for his accomplishments but noted that he was not in a position to talk about campaigns.

Jonathan Karl asked Buttigieg on ABC’s “This Week” whether he personally wanted to see Biden run in the 2024 election. In response Buttigieg praised Biden calling him an incredibly successful President and that he would like to see Biden continue his work.

He added that while he might not be able to discuss the campaign he was incredibly proud of all the work the team had delivered. While Buttigieg may be happy to see Biden run again, the majority of Americans do not share the sentiment.

The ABC News-Washington Post poll, released Sunday, showed that the majority of Americans did not want to see President Biden or former President Trump as the 2024 presidential candidates.

Approximately 58 percent of Democrats and Democrat-leaning independents also said they would like to see the Democratic nominee be someone different.

When Buttigieg was asked about how Biden would make his reelection campaign, the man noted that this is not in the realm of things he dealt with and that it was “above” his “pay grade”. However, he maintained that the work of the President has been “extraordinary” and specifically referred to the infrastructure package.
