Former GOP presidential hopeful Jeb Bush in an interview with Fox News host Brian Kilmeade in a Fox Nation special called “Who is Ron DeSantis?” said that he would support Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) and proceeded to support the view that there is a need for “a generational change in our politics.”

Bush, who had previously served as the Florida governor himself, was asked whether he thought this was the right time for DeSantis to try for the White House. In response, Bush said that he believed it was.

He proceeded to praise DeSantis calling him a “really effective governor.” He then added that he was “young” and that it was time to have a “generational change.” He added that he was hoping that it was also time for a shift towards more “future-oriented conversations” in politics.

The comments were aired during the show last Wednesday, but a clip from the show resurfaced online on Monday and has been making the rounds since then. DeSantis has not yet disclosed what his plans for 2024 are, but he has recently stated that he would not be making any decisions or announcing anything until after the end of Florida’s legislative session in May. So far, former President Trump and former U.S. Ambassador Nikki Haley are the only two major Republicans to have officially launched their Presidential campaigns.

Bush argued that DeSantis has shown how Florida could potentially become a model for the entire country.
