( – On Tuesday, President Biden slammed former President Donald Trump and the GOP for not giving him any other option to cut down the influx of migrants in the Southern border other than to sign an executive order.

During his remarks from the White House, Biden argued that he was moving forward despite the obstructions set by the Republicans and that he would be acting on his own. He proceeded to announce an order that would go into effect when the daily border crossings between ports of entry exceeded 2,500 over a seven-day average.

Biden argued that he would have preferred addressing the issue by passing bipartisan legislation, as that is the only way in which they will be able to fix the currently broken system. He added that they needed to hire more asylum officers, Border Patrol agents, and judges. However, he claims the GOP had not left him with any other option.

Biden pointed out that the bipartisan border bill that the Senate had previously negotiated was blocked by the GOP twice, despite it being the strongest border security deal they had agreed on in decades. However, Biden said that many Republicans in Congress had opted to walk away from the agreement after former President Trump told them to do so.

Biden added that Trump was not looking to fix any of the issues, but instead, he focused on attacking him. He noted that this was a disservice to the American people as it was a political move from Trump.
