(patriotnewsdaily.com) – Biden admits delegates at the Democratic National Convention could “do whatever they want.”
Toward the end of his roughly one-hour NATO address, President Joe Biden said that at next month’s Democratic National Convention, delegates are “free to do whatever they want,” should they decide they don’t want him to be their candidate come November.
Biden made the remarks while taking questions from reporters, during which more than one of the ten reporters he selected questioned his hemorrhaging support among Democrats.
Speaking of the delegates, Biden said, “Obviously, they’re free to do whatever they want,” but noted he had already received the “overwhelming support.”
Despite forgetting how many votes he won in the primary, Biden noted that he had received the “overwhelming” majority. However, he added that if he were to “show up at the convention” and everybody said they wanted someone else, they were allowed to as it is “the democratic process.”
Yet, he dismissed that would happen, simply stating, “It’s not going to happen.”
Biden then lauded his achievements, expressing his belief that he is “the best qualified to govern” and win while acknowledging “other people” could beat former President Donald Trump, although they’d be starting from “scratch,” whereas his campaign already had “$220 million in the bank” and is “doing well.”
The President also talked up Vice President Kamala Harris several times during his address, telling reporters during the Q&A that he wouldn’t have selected her as his running mate if he “didn’t think she was qualified” to become the President.
However, upon further questioning, Biden revealed he wouldn’t step aside for Harris, who he called Vice President Trump at one stage, should date show she would have a better chance at winning against former President Donald Trump in November.
Instead, Biden insisted that he wouldn’t give her the reins unless data “came back” showing there was “no way” he could win.
